A time to invest?
With savings interest rates in the UK at an all time low, stocks and shares performing at well below their best, making secure and profitable investments for your future has become increasingly difficult. However, there is now an answer, Spanish property. With prices having fallen by over 40% in the past eighteen months and the euro/pound exchange rate hovering around the 1.15 mark, this has led to a huge number of owners being forced into selling their homes. Many developers have also had to reduce their prices leaving a wealth of bargains for the long term (five to eight years) investor. During which time you could use your investment for holidays, renting out to friends and family or even ¨buy to let¨. We have one particular development whereby the in-house rental company will guarantee July and August rentals, generating a net income of 4,300€ per annum, leaving your apartment available for ten months giving you the opportunity to increase your annual income via private rentals. Cheap long term rentals
If you are considering moving permanently to Spain we would recommend that you look for a low-cost rental property first. Renting for the first six to eighteen months gives you the freedom to move around and try different areas. Inland property has been particularly popular with buyers in recent years due to prices being cheaper than coastal. However, that is no longer the case and many owners are now seeking to move towards the coast as Spanish country life can leave you feeling isolated compared to the vibrancy of the coastal areas.
