Where is Vicar?

Vicar is situated o­n the meridian of the Sierra de Gador in the central part of the Almerian poniente hence it´s slogan HEART OF THE PONIENTE. The Mediterranean motorway crosses the northern part of the municipality which makes it easily accessible and makes Vicar just 10 – 15 minutes away from all principal centres and towns.

What is it like?

Vicar is a dynamic municipality with quality public services which are continually growing. It has much to offer; sports centres, transport services, indoor market open every morning for fresh fruit, vegetables, fish , bread and meat, La Envia Golf course, a new football stadium under construction and a large public swimming pool. Vicar has all the shops, bars, banks etc. but it is renowned for it´s large open air market o­n a Sunday morning. The place for a bargain, churros and chocolate, fresh spit roasted chickens all add to the flavour of this town.

What does it offer?

A large agricultural area surrounds Vicar and supplies most of Europe with it´s produce, you may even recognise the boxes in your supermarkets! As much as for it´s inhabitants and it´s visitors, Vicar offers you a place of serenity, where time does not impose and the friendly silence allows our very interior to talk and be found as o­ne.
